Lesson 2: Genesis 1
This section of the course is devoted to the literature of the ancient Hebrews. I devote two weeks to Genesis. The readings in Genesis are limited to 10 of the first 11 chapters. The last four weeks will cover the Psalms and the Book of Proverbs. You must read ahead of the daily lectures, so that you can get through the material. You are required to read all 150 of the Psalms and all 31 chapters of the Proverbs. You are not expected to remember the details of these materials, but you should read them at least once in your life.
As you read any document, keep these five topics in mind. What is the author’s view of these five themes?
