Having worked last week on embellishing the language and content of your speeches, now it’s time to look at another part of the delivery of your speech: body language. Body language is a crucial part of any speech and must be well practiced for it to support the speech well. This week’s lessons will give you pointers on developing good body language habits in your presentations.
Assignment:
Today’s assignment is first to choose the topic of your speech. This week’s project will be focused on body language, and not so much on the content of your speech. Pick a fun story to retell as your speech for this week. This could be a fairy tale or tall tale that you enjoy, or could be a short summary of a book you have read. The important part is to write it quickly and make sure you choose a story that has lots of action.
You will begin practicing the speech tomorrow, so you must finish writing the speech today.
