Now that you understand and have practiced some very basic movements for your speech, here are some more ideas on dramatizing the speech and making it more interesting for your audience.
Assignment:
Take this lesson on gestures and apply it to your speech. If you have multiple characters in the speech, give each one a stance or personality. Also, if you are narrating a series of events, loosely act out the events for your audience. If the character is walking down a road, then you walk around too. If the character is eating a meal, then you can act that out while speaking as well.
Make the actions fun, and make sure they are all supporting your speech. After you add in gestures, practice the whole speech at least twice. Also, be timing your speech to make sure you will meet the 5-7 minute target.
