There is no video for today’s lesson, as is true of most of the Friday lessons. Implement the tips that you learned in the lessons this week to make as many improvements as you can, as compared to last week’s speech video.
You may or may not have used props in a speech before this week, but this will be the first time you have been assigned to use them. Make sure the props are convenient, relevant, and appropriate as support material for your speech.
Assignment:
Today you need to record your eighth speech for this class, post the video on your WordPress blog, and then post a link to the blog on the student forums.
Also, you are required to go back and watch the video when you are done. Take note of what you would like to be improving for next week’s speech so that you can be sure to keep improving every week.
Keep the props for your speech close to where you stand for the speech, and if you can easily do so, keep them covered until the right moment in your speech. This will keep your audience from being distracted.
This speech is another that I would like you to give to a live audience of either your family or a small group of friends. Eventually, this speech class will require you to give speeches in a more public setting, so the more practice you can get in front of an audience now, the better prepared you will be.
