Description
Grade 12 Calculus
Calculus is the basis of advanced college-level math courses and college-level science courses such as physics.
Calculus is vital for students seeking a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics), anything involving finance or economics, and many other careers. Few courses open up more career opportunities than calculus.
Even with careers unrelated to math, employers usually give a job candidate that passed calculus more weight than candidates that haven’t, because they assume that candidate is skilled in analytical reasoning.
Calculus also develops reasoning and analytical skills that are useful for many college majors outside of math, such as physics, computer science, and medicine.
Not only does this course teach college-level calculus concepts, it also gives a head start for some advanced college-level math courses such as calculus II, multi-variable calculus, linear algebra, etc.
Unlike almost all other calculus courses, this course makes calculus much less intimidating by starting with the ‘big picture’ of mathematics and applying it to calculus. Students soon realize that all they need to master calculus is the skills they already learned from previous math courses, making it much easier.
The instructor of this course has a minor in mathematics, tested out of enough math courses to take Pre-Calculus right after Geometry, and, as a math tutor of four years, helped many struggling students pass advanced math courses such as calculus. These experiences helped him develop the unique method that makes this course easier than standard calculus courses.
Students taking this course will learn calculus concepts through lessons, practice problems, and exams.
