Using the following classic scouting topics, each lesson covers a new subject or skill.
Radio & Electronics:
Learn how to be a ham radio operator. After this section, you will be able to do the following:
- Build a radio
- Define how electronic components work
- Make (solder) electronic circuits
- Prepare for a Technician class amateur radio license
- Contact hams on the air
The electronic field rewards those who take initiative: inventors and innovators. Early introduction to electronics sparks curiosity and opportunities.
Robotics:
You will become more comfortable and confident as an inventor. After this section you will be able to:
- Build a robot with a control panel
- Build a fully autonomous robot
- Describe the subsystems of a robot

Personal Health & Fitness:
Learn how to be healthy. After this section, you will be able to do the following:
- Create and implement a personal fitness plan
You will develop a fitness plan. This section is designed to help you take ownership over your personal health and wellness. You will learn about nutrition, hydration, and getting proper rest. You will learn about hygiene, disease prevention, social heath, mental heath, and avoiding harmful substances.
First Aid:
Learn how to save lives in an emergency. You can get certified by taking a test. After this section, you will be able to do the following:
- Apply first aid to heart attack and stroke victims
- Perform adult, child, and infant CPR
- Use an AED on an adult, child, and infant
- Save a conscious choking adult, child and infant
- Save an unconscious choking adult, child and infant
- Treat a shock victim
- Control bleeding
- Use personal safety best practices
Backpacking:
After this section, you will be prepared for outdoor adventures and survival. You will be able to:
- Create a backpacking and emergency plan
- Assemble a gear list
- Pack essential outdoor gear and leave behind non-essentials
- Find quality equipment and good deals
*The equipment covered includes: navigation tools, fire starting tools, sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, clothing items, signaling devices, water filtration devices, cookware, and sharp tools. This section will prepare students for the Camping section.
Camping:
Training in classic bush crafting skills for outdoor self-sufficiency. After this section, you will be able to:
- Use a compass and a map to navigate in the backcountry
- Build a shelter
- Build a fire
- Build a fire when it’s wet and damp
- Split wood with a knife
- Safely use a hand ax
- Tie several important knots
- Lash wood together to build simple structures
