Grade 8 – English

Description

The 8th Grade English class combines organizational skills, research habits, essay writing, and much more into a single writing course. The literature which accompanies the video lessons and writing assignments was chosen to reinforce the techniques of good writing that are being studied in the class.

While it is important for students to enjoy reading, and they will have assigned literature time, they will be focused on learning writing skills and practicing them with short daily assignments. The ability to write well is being lost in our culture, but as an important part of the Good Curriculum, your student should see a marked improvement in his/her ability to express thoughts and arguments in a cohesive, logical manner. Parents will only be required to grade weekly essays.
